#22 - Trent Kaese - golf course founder shares his hockey and business journey

If you build it they will come…said Trent and his dad as they built Cottonwood Golf Course from scratch! We had a great chat with Trent and learned about his hockey journey, some fun stories involving his NHL jersey number being retired and a visit to the Gretzky household and his interaction with the Conn Smythe trophy and more. Listen in!
Trent Kaese played in the Western Hockey League from 1983 to 1987 with Lethbridge, Swift Current and Calgary.  He was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in the 8th round of the National Hockey League Draft by Buffalo Sabres.  Trent went on to an 8-year professional career, including a game in the NHL with Buffalo.  After time in the American Hockey League, International Hockey League and the East Coast Hockey League, Trent went to England and played in the British Hockey League.
Upon completion of his playing career, Trent and his family built Cottonwood Golf Course in his hometown of Nanaimo, BC.  Starting as a 9-hole course in 1996, it has grown to an 18-hole course with complete facilities to host weddings, tournaments and banquets.
