Rob played four seasons in the Western Hockey League with Kamloops starting when he was just 15. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fourth round of the 1986 NHL Draft. Rob represented Canada at the 1988 World Junior Championships and brought home a gold medal.
As a 19-year old, Rob became a regular in the NHL with Pittsburgh. In his second year with the Penguins, Rob had 115 points and 49 goals. He also played in the NHL in Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas.
Now Rob is part of the Edmonton Oilers Radio broadcast on 630 CHED as an in-game analyst. He also keeps very busy working at multiple hockey academies in the Edmonton Area as well as co-hosting a very popular summer Road Rage street hockey tournament in St. Albert, AB.
